PROTENOX

Antirust and heat disperser for stainless steel welding. It protects against oxidation on the opposite side of the welding.

Stainless steel has some physical features that make it notoriously different from common steel in the welding process.

Stainless steel has a high coefficient of expansion, approximately 50% more than common steel, which may cause unpredictable deformations.

Another negative factor is that its thermal conductivity is low, that is, heat is slowly dispersed. As a consequence, there is a great heat concentration in the welded area.

Finally, the almost stationary heat greatly backs up the rusting of the base material.

These negative aspects are to be minimized in order to obtain a good result in the welding process.

PROTENOX paste, applied on the opposite side of the joint acts as deoxidant and heat disperser for 300 - 400 series stainless steel welding and heat resistant alloys with less than 20% Ni.

PROTENOX protects base metals against intense heat generated in Oxygas, TIG, MIG, Arc welding processes.

This light blue creamy paste, when applied on the opposite side of the joint, greatly reduces the negative consequences involved in the process:

Prevents rusting resulting from stainless steel welding, and high chrome content alloy welding.

Provides a perfect finishing on the opposite side of the joint.

Reduces the possibility of deformation.

Prevents the possibility of perforation of the base metal.

Controls the penetration of the root weld bead

Creamy, neutral, odorless, inoffensive, soluble appearance.
